[ one can hear the grin in her voice in replying to that request. ] You got it!
[ Jen isn't comfortable enough doing anything like a wheelie to show off just yet, but the bike still feels like the front lifts when she punches the throttle even harder. she leans forward to balance that out, maybe produce a better drag profile. she's read about stuff like that but in practice, who knows how good it works.
what matters is how good it makes them feel right now. Jen? feels fantastic. ]
-It really did. Almost... like flying. Maybe she didn't really need to fight that urge to nuzzle. She was too high on the experience not to. The cherry on the little sundae Jen had made for her. So... she just did, pressing close as the wind whipped by her.-
[ there was a slight waver in her control as that happened, but Jen instantly played it off. ] Stupid potholes!
[ yeah. potholes. she's had Bumblebee for like (1) day but it already got her heart going in a way she cannot adequately explain - equal parts excitement and trepidation - so she didn't need other things to mix in with that feeling. still, if Satsuki was comfortable enough with her to do that much, then maybe things were not to the point of worrying about after all.
she slowed down as they got closer to the city limits and traffic started to be a factor. Jen pulled up to a red light and tried to straighten up out of hunching forward like that. ] I never thought I'd ride something like this. My mom would flip if she knew!
[ she'd... probably flip over a lot of things. everything. ]
Well... I can't pass up a chance like this. [ Jen says, patting the padding just in front of her. this bike can fit so much badass inside of it and it'd be a shame to keep it cooped up. ] Besides, it's not like I'm going to be driving it every day. Much less chance of there being some kind of accident - which is the main thing she'd be worried about.
[ the issue of Jen's "image" and also the insurance premiums would be chief among the other concerns. sparring practice, though? that would be a one way ticket to being grounded from two time zones away. ] Just like if she knew where I was going with you, and what I planned to do while I'm there.
[ she turned her head to the side, and though she couldn't show her smile to Satsuki, it hopefully showed clear up to her eyes. ] I know you won't hurt me too bad. I trust you.
Eh, depends on your definition of "too bad". I'm still gonna wear you out. -That was the plan, at least. She didn't have to hold completely back, but this wasn't the theatrical stuff she did in the ring, either. This was going to be a real, explosive sort of grappling. She really hoped Jen knew what she was getting into.-
I said I wanted to test how tough I was, but I'm not indestructible. Yet! [ she gives a little laugh and eased them forward again as the light changed. ] I want to be able to walk tomorrow, okay?
[ Jen may need clarification on some of the terms even after all this time, but so long as Satsuki knows there are going to be limits to be had then that's all that mattered in the end.
it won't take them long to pull up, with Jen regarding the building carefully with her visor open. she still hasn't taken anything off, saving those surprises for a bit longer. ] Is this the place?
This is it! RCdub headquarters. Or, well, it is when anyone's here. Boss sometimes sleeps in her office, but I made sure the gym would at least be clear for us today. No one to bother us and we can get as rowdy as we want.
-Satsuki hopped off the bike, straightening herself (and her poor hair) out before she moved pulled her keys from her back pocket, using the fob to open the security door.-
Sweet. Thanks for setting this all up on short notice. I really appreciate it. I figured we could have done this outside but... I don't want to get that kind of messy.
[ she followed on behind her friend, taking in the sight and being cautious of their surroundings even if Satsuki assured her they would be alone. ]
-The gym inside was actually pretty damn nice, considering how run down it looked outside. The aesthetic benefits of being in an old boxing gym. There was plenty of gear and equipment, as well as two full sized rings with ropes set up along the far wall. There was a stairwell that lead up to the office spaces, but nothing seemed to be going on up there. A large banner was on the windowed wall, reading "Recolle Championship Wrestling; est. 1973", and every wall was littered with pictures of various wrestlers that had come through town during the territory days up through its separation from the NWA and into its period as an independent company.-
Welp. Here it is. Pretty humble for the biggest indie promotion in this area.
I like it. You can tell there's a lot of history here. It doesn't have that "brand new stadium" smell. And it... doesn't feel empty either, even with just us here.
[ now that she was inside, it was probably time to actually take her stuff off. but Jen seems to be starting slow. first she unzips her jacket, and under it a loose t-shirt barely covers the tight top she was wearing for this occasion. then she tucks her keys and gloves into her jacket's pockets and zips those shut. she reaches up for the helmet next but stops. ]
Oh. Where should I put my stuff? I didn't bring a bag, but I'm wearing my gear under this.
Just leave it near the ring. I've got my workout gear in the locker room, so I'll change into that real quick. -Satsuki remarked as she started heading in that direction.-
[ once Satsuki's on her way, Jen starts taking off the layers. her helmet and jacket, loose shirt, boots and jeans. in hindsight, a pair of sneakers would have made sense but... eh. if this goes at all to plan she won't be worried about her feet that much.
she's just going to re-tie her hair so that the new, even more massive golden mane is going to be less of a hassle, and then get to some warm-up stretches. ]
-Satsuki didn't take long before coming back out again. Black yoga pants, kneepads, elbowpads, and an orange sports top that exposed her abs. Her hair was righted back and knotted up, as well. Satsuki jogged her way up to the ring, clearing up to the apron in a single vertical leap and grabbing onto the ropes.-
[ Jen had worn her elbow and knee pads too. they may not be quite as much padding as Satsuki's but they've served her well on the courts. one glove too, for grip not for padding, out of habit more than anything. ]
Well, you know me. I've taken like one self-defense course ever, so why don't we start with giving me some moves I can block for a change? Or grabs. I'm good either way. [ hoisting herself up onto the mat under the ropes, Jen rolled to a standing position and hopped about on the balls of her feet to limber up some more. ]
I'm going to go ahead and say "no" in the hopes I'll pick it up quick from what I've seen you do before. [ she's certain that with all her other knowledge that she'll be able to keep up. but if Satsuki wants to explain in detail, she's not going the mind. Jen's always up for learning more about her friend's world and how things work in the ring.
(the details can absolutely be glossed over for the sake of time and energy, of course. Jen just wants to get hit.) ]
Like dancing, huh? I guess you can call this a dip, then! -Satsuki suddenly put the pressure on her grip, dropping her guard low and shifting her wait until she could hip toss Jen over.-
A wh-A?! [ it's a good thing this wasn't done on a harder surface. even with the difference in height and mass Satsuki was easily able to ragdoll Jen right over onto the mat, knocking the wind right out of her. ]

Feels great! Let's go faster!

I'm noticing you're starting to care a little less about stuff that'd make your mom flip. Good for you. I mean it.
