Like dancing, huh? I guess you can call this a dip, then! -Satsuki suddenly put the pressure on her grip, dropping her guard low and shifting her wait until she could hip toss Jen over.-
A wh-A?! [ it's a good thing this wasn't done on a harder surface. even with the difference in height and mass Satsuki was easily able to ragdoll Jen right over onto the mat, knocking the wind right out of her. ]
[ okay, actual grappling? Jen is way out of her league here. strength means nothing without mobility and to get out of this she doesn't want to, like... strike Satsuki. especially with a metal fist. no matter how strong someone is, that's got to pack a punch.
better to just tap out and try something else. ] O-okay! That's, ah, not exactly what I was looking for...
Heh, sorry. -Satsuki released the hold, rolling off of Jen's shoulder and laying flat on her stomach, looking over at the other woman with a slightly guilty grin.-
Almost everything is muscle memory at this point, yanno?
I get that. It's fine! I just... I kind of need that shoulder, you know? [ Jen is more amused than anything, rolling onto her own side, too. but that might be a bit sore later. ]
How about you try to counter grapple me this time, instead of just me tossing you around like a rag doll, okay? -Satsuki rolled onto her back, kipping up onto her feet and quickly turning around to hold her arms out for the collar-and-elbow position again.-
In other words, I'll lead? I can handle that. [ though Jen is out of her depth here by far, she's still going to do her best to be confident and enjoy it. she mirrors the pose and comes in for the grab as before, but tries not to overplay the height advantage this time. a lot of good it did her before, anyway... ]
-Satsuki provides resistance for her, this time not just immediately dipping her center of gravity down to throw Jen off balance, but instead trying to break past at least one of Jen's arms so she could swing around for the waistlock.-
[ if Satsuki's trying to get Jen off her feet it's... actually probably likely with the difference in strength. Jen can't go for total prevention, but she does try to keep her right arm behind Satsuki's back, hooking under her armpit or arm or around her neck. whatever she can reach to try and turn this around - however ineffectually. ]
-Satsuki may have had the strength advantage, but Jen definitely seemed to know what she was doing as far as blocking a grapple, and Satsuki didn't quite have the height she needed to get Jen out from under her guard. And the struggle eventually has her lose her footing, collapsing beneath Jen and bringing the other woman down with her.-
[ it's a good thing that Satsuki knows a thing or two about falling, and Jen too has had her share of being bowled over under far less controlled circumstances. it doesn't prepare her for being knocked breathless a second time by the sudden dive, though. nor does it prevent her from landing atop her friend, chest-to-chest, with her palms scraping the mat hard.
her hair might have been secure enough at first, too, but with the force of the impact through her arms traveling straight back the sheer mass of golden-blonde just comes spilling out all across her back, over her shoulders, and into her face. pardon her while she steadies herself before even bothering to take care of it, buddy, this is... going to take a minute. ] Hah. Hah, looks like... you got me.. again...
Just... wow. She didn't even know situations like this happened in real life. If felt like something out of a bad wrestling fanfic. Not that she'd ever read or written any of those as a teenager or had a secret AO3 account where she wrote about lesbian wrestlers or anything.
Wait, why was she denying that truth in her own head? She was in a very weird space. Her cheeks were bright red, looking up at Jen, eyes wide, and chest feeling almost painfully heavy, and definitely not from the pressure of Jen being on top of her. She was so close, and beautiful, and she could remember so keenly that dream where they embraced, how wonderful she had smelled in that dream, the taste of her lips, and it was all she could think about.
Try as she might, no other thought could enter her mind, but knowing what making those thoughts into reality might mean kept her frozen there, unable to do so much as blink or speak, just... look into Jen's eyes. They were gorgeous. Like stars in the sky...-
[ Jen is not completely oblivious to the way Satsuki was looking at her. almost openly gawking, actually. but despite the closeness, and the way that they're positioned - with no plans for either of them to move, apparently - she does mistake the actual reason for the stare. at least, at first.
she reaches up with her left arm to pull some of her hair back over her shoulder and let more light in. it will be much easier to catch the difference in shades there and with her hair in the light. something she hasn't stopped to properly show off to Satsuki prior to this moment. the hair could have been played off as having just visited the salon or something recently. but the eyes? the subtle shift from brilliant blue to violet was more like taking an alexandrite stone and moving it from one light source to the next.
[ she's smiling a bit more after hearing all that, but there's a tinge of embarrassment in her voice and color on her face as she processes all that. ] Yeah...? They really gave me a scare when they showed up out of the blue. Heh. The hair, too.
[ Satsuki knows how hard it was to cultivate appearances, whether it be for glamour or for power. Jen was a big fan of taking selfies and posting them to get people to validate the way she looked, but it meant a lot more when people focused on the details she worked hard to build on and not just the stuff she was born with. or the obvious traits. ]
You look amazing, though... I mean, maybe I'm the worst person to ask, because I'd think you'd look amazing no matter what...
-No, stop, you're letting it all leak out. Not here, not in this moment with her resting, now a bit more gently, on top of you. You're going to ruin so much if you don't shut up. Just stop it.-
[ Jen's smile kept growing until it threatened to burst. a bashful little laugh escaped her lips and she pushed up off of Satsuki into a sitting - straddling? - position. ] Oh c'mon, stop! I know you're my number one ego-booster for sure, but even this is going a bit far, don't you think? You're going to make me blush...
[ she isn't seriously chiding her friend for it. no, it's more that it was giving Jen a funny feeling in her chest as well as the way her face was heating up with each passing second. she even found it difficult to look her prone friend in the eyes in that moment. ]
-Satsuki propped herself on her elbows, keeping their faces close together, though in a somewhat more familiar scale, just slightly below Jen's nose, looking up at her. She was gorgeous before. Of course she was. Satsuki had felt that since day one. But now it was just that more profoundly so, and not just because of some physical differences.
She'd told herself she wouldn't do this. She'd said over and over again it was just a dream, a dream she couldn't even confirm Jen remembered in any way. It didn't have to mean anything. It never should have meant anything.
But... It did. It meant so much to her. Maybe because it was because of what those other two versions of themselves had said. About how Satsuki and Jen were too cowardly to move forward despite their obvious feelings. And maybe... Satsuki was tired of them being right.
A hand reach up to comb through Jen's hair, forcing her to look Satsuki right in the eyes.-
There's my problem. I love making you blush. I love the way you smile like this. That spark in your eyes. I guess I'm too addicted to stop anymore...
-"Don't do it. Don't do this. Don't make it complicated." She was tired of telling herself that. She wanted more. The presence of another woman, of Jen's mother, of that cute girl Lina... not a bit of it was fair, because her heart knew what it wanted. She'd wanted it even before that stupid dream...
In that dream, they no longer had to worry about the burdens they carried with them. Satsuki didn't have to worry about becoming an inconvenience to Jen, sacrificing her own feelings for Jen's sake, but if Jen could still indulge with that other girl, then just what the hell was she sacrificing them for? She thought she could be happy with Jen finding a down-low relationship, but she wasn't. She'd been jealous from the moment it was obvious to her.
She was tired of just dreaming.-
Someone once asked me if I'd found the right person, and I said I'd already had... -Those words from the dream echoed in her mind, still, and now she finally spoke them aloud.
But it couldn't end with just words. Slowly, she craned her face forward, pressing her lips to Jen's. That annoying, sacred space between them finally obliterated in a single instance. She couldn't keep pretending she didn't want her. Not anymore...
[ nothing else could have flashed Jen back to that moment in that dream any faster than this. even if it had come up prior, Jen might have tried to deny that it happened, because it was too real. too painful, in a few ways, and not just the most obvious ones.
she could have - should have? - just left it at this. for a long moment she's just... there. present in the kiss but not into it at all. but after a mental kick in the teeth for herself she brings herself to take Satsuki by the shoulders and angle herself to actually indulge in the act.
that's really all it would be, right? indulging. she could blame it on a lot of things. the heat of the moment. adrenaline. lust. she's so selfish and she knows it. even if her relationships since "waking up" have been built upon a give-and-take dynamic, she has been taking a lot more than she feels is fair. just like right now, taking advantage of Satsuki's affections knowing full well that there were fundamental differences in what the two of them wanted or needed right now. ]
-The kiss seemed to last forever, suspended on a thread in time that had no beginning or end. But despite how it all felt that way, Satsuki was still very much a real person who couldn't just let herself linger in that affection forever, and such pesky things like needing air reared their head, forcing her to break the kiss, panting lightly, eyes still closed and face fully flushed. She'd done it. She'd really done it. No more dreams. No more pretending to be happy with the situation at hand. Those barriers were gone, at least on her end.-
Jen, I...
-She felt like she had to say something, to somehow confirm any of this was really happening and it wasn't just another dream playing with their hearts. Jen had returned the kiss, hadn't she? She hadn't imagined that part, right?-
[ likewise, Jen needs more than a few moments to recover. it was indeed real, and though not intense by execution, it certainly left her reeling in a different way. if Satsuki was expecting any kind of deep thought of epiphany to follow, though, she'll be sorely disappointed. Jen was never the best with her words. ]
Well, that was... a thing. [ whew. nailed it?
no. not really.
at least she looked. pleased. content, maybe? relieved? ] I, uh- Did that feel familiar for you, too...?
-And now for part two of waking up. The kiss had happened, it had been wonderful and beautiful, and the soft look on Jen's face made her heart race. But it couldn't be left alone there. The familiarity...-
It did... Because we dreamed about it. -Together.-
