[As it turns out, the Mayship is not exempt from turning invisible once the girls step outside of it.
And isn't that a pain -- knowing that it hasn't gone anywhere, but still being unable to locate the front against the invisible white haze the city has become. It isn't long before May and Sakura rush out for their paint brushes, and then afterward, hitting up a store for a pair of super soakers. They've got a lot of ship to cover, after all.]
Mmm... so we just... aim and shoot?
[It's her first super soaker and so the play gun sits awkwardly in Sakura's hands, less like a weapon and more like a delicate art piece she's afraid to drop.]
-May adjusted her goggles with one hand, handing over a pair for Sakura with the other, before slinging her weapon around, giving it a few pumps for good measure.-
Yep! Total splat attack. Gotta make sure we give this thing as much coverage as we can, or it'll cause problems for us AND the rest of the folks at the pier. She is the biggest ship here, after all.
[She grimaces at the thought of another ship running into their home, and after putting on her own goggles, mimic's May's pumping motion with her gun.
pump pump pump pump pump pu-- Oh, it stopped pumping...]
Okay, here I go...!
[She has obviously never handled anything resembling a firearm, even one that's relatively harmless; her eyes squint closed after she aims and fires. Immediately paint explodes from the tip, and yep, the ship is definitely still there, a small portion of it now drenched in black paint.
M-may might want to watch out, though, because Sakura's aim is not what we'd call impressive.]
-Half of May's face, and a good portion of her paintin' clothes, wound up splashed in black, dripping at her feet. She stood there in silence as the rhythmic plopping pitter pat of the paint drip started to slow, and just as slowly, she turned to face Sakura, her disposition difficult to discern...-
[Ha-hahaha-- oh she is absolutely backing up a half-step, gun held guiltily in front of her. It's near painful recognizing that if this were say, John or her sister, she'd be cackling like the devil, but it's May who is half-drenched in paint, so Sakura's heart sinks.
-Anger seemed like an obvious thing, at first, until her shoulders started to shake and it became more obvious that she was... laughing.
But not her normal laugh, no. This one had a certain edge to it, bordering on the cusp of madness as she slowly turned back to Sakura, gun raised, and aimed, at the other girl.-
Imma give you a head start. -Said through a wide, determined grin.-
[... This does nothing to dissuade her from the fear she's going to die today.
Which, uh, means Sakura books it immediately with a yelp of supposed terror, flying down what's painted of the dock on the look for cover. But surprise, there's not a lot when only sections of the harbor are painted in the first place, quickly making this the worst game of paint gun hide-and-seek.]
Sakura isn't quick enough to avoid getting pelted in the back, which means at least part of her hair is now dripping with sticky paint. There's a squeal of dismay --
And then Sakura turns and go full-on mercenary, trying to shoot May during her approach.]
-Well this was going to be fun, but now it was even MORE fun. May was quick to dive behind some crates as Sakura fired back, one blast catching her shoulder.-
Come on, I know you're a better shot than that! I seen you with that bow, girl!
-May yelped, ducking down quickly, but only barely managed a dodge as paint grazed her cheek. She had definitely underestimated how much better a shooter Sakura would be compared to herself. She needed to get this match back on her terms...-
You're only delaying the inevitable, yanno! Imma have you dripping before this is done!
[Sweetie maybe that was not the best comeba-- okay well you do you. And she is still shooting by the way, though more sparingly since she can't get a clear shot of May yet.]
-In any other situation, May might have gotten some palpatations in reaction to that comment, but in this, it was at least mildly terrifying. She looked around for anything that could give her an advantage...
Then it occured to her. She had brought that out with her, strapped to her belt. She hadn't quite felt worthy of wearing it just yet, not ready to live up to her other self's example, but it did feel good to at least be near it.
Sakura's eye was trained on May's position behind her cover, she knew that. Hopefully she'd notice the big orange hat being flung her way, and not May dashing up behind it.-
-As soon as May had a clear shot, she opened up a peppering of blasts as she dashed forward, trying to minimize her sway so that each shot might land more soundly.-
[Having already swiveled on her heel, desperate to find May, Sakura gets pelted in the chest and face with three successful hits. Damnit. And of course she squeals in dismay, automatically backing up a few steps.
-- But she refuses to go down easily? NEVER SURRENDER. Now that she knows where May is, her gun is aimed and there's immediate return fire]
-Splat, splat, sploot. One shot got May clear in the face, and while the goggles protected her eyes, she was still blinded, stumbling forward on her own momentum towards Sakura.- Look out!
probably backdated to like... the week of 5/7

[As demonstrated by May DUCKIN' TO THE SIDE. Sakura looks miffed indeed, nearly tripping over an (invisible) trashcan for her troubles --
And still taking whatever shots she can. SHE REFUSES TO LOSE.]
Hold still!

... And they hit absolutely nothing but a hat, oh no--
It seems even in this, Sakura's a combination of uncanny skill and absolutely no experience]
