Living quarters ain't dark, son. It's engineering that's pitch black. No lights save for the back-up lights and no portholes.

[ The design of the ship's interior matched the outside well enough. Bulkheads lined the hallways, though there was some attempt to make the whole thing less drab and militaristic with some paint, including guide arrows that moved along the lower part of the inside wall that guided along to various places in the ship. The yellow line lead to Engineering, by the label. ]

The primary reactor engine is what powers most of the ship, but basic life support and lighting for living spaces is on a separate generator. But this thing's been here awhile with no need for actual fuel of any kind. I run the lights, charge my phone, work the security functions, even open and close doors, without ever having to gas up that secondary generator. And for the longest time, I couldn't understand why...
